Race Day Entertainment
On-course entertainment will be provided by Chicago Street Musicians. Check out their site at ChicagoStreetMusicians.org.
Performers include:
Keithen Banks - Keithen is a singer and guitarist currently recording his first album, a wonderful collection of catchy, original, blues- and R&B-tinged songs. You can often find him performing at the Jackson Red Line stop. He also plays every Friday with his group at Winestyles in the South Loop.
Fritz Legros - Fritz, the One Man Band, grew up in Haiti, where he was a member of the national youth orchestra. He is currently recording gospel and reggae albums. He sings and plays guitar and percussion regularly throughout Chicago.
Ron Christian, Norman Smith and Joseph Ellison - Together, Ron, Norman and Joseph form a well-known, popular trio that performs regularly at Loop CTA stations. They sing wonderful renditions of Motown classics, such as "Cupid" and "Stand By Me."
Talon McKinney, Jerry Williams and Jerome Tolliver - These three horn players (alto sax and trombone) make wonderful music together. Made up of NIU and Roosevelt University students, the trio has arranged a number of popular tunes, which they perform regularly all over Chicago. You can often find them performing in front of the Art Institute.
